The amp, which is valued at £20,000-40,000 ($32,404-64,808), was used in the legendary musician's last sessions in July 1970 at the Electric Ladyland Studios in New York.

Hendrix tragically died of an overdose in September 1970.

Last year, a Hendrix-played black Fender Stratocaster from his iconic appearance at the Monterey Pop Festival in 1967, when he appeared to set fire to it, auctioned for £180,000 ($287,500).

Famously he switched the guitar, setting fire to a cheaper model, which ironically sold for $495,292 in 2002.

A Gibson ES 345 Stereo guitar in cherry red, owned by Paul McCartney during his time in Wings, is valued at £15,000-25,000 ($24,303-40,505).

A 1958 Gretsch Chet Atkins Country Gentleman guitar owned by the Monkees' Mike Nesmith, and signed by all four members of the band, is valued at £10,000-15,000 ($16,202-24,303).

Gretsch were the official musical sponsors of the Monkees, who started out as the stars of their self-titled TV show in 1966.

They went on to become one of the most successful pop groups of all time, going on to sell over 50m records worldwide.
