Jimmy Page Les Paul to auction with $20,000 starting bid for charity

Led Zeppelin collectors will compete for one of only 25 custom Gibson Les Pauls signed and played by the legendary Jimmy Page.

Page's custom stylings are featured on the guitar and he has signed and played each of the 25

In an online auction that ends on June 29, two of the 25 specially made custom guitars will auction with a $25,000 minimum bid, with proceeds to benefit the Little Kids Rock and USO charities.

Page's 1959 Les Paul "Number Two" guitar is legendary among collectors, yet it has been in the Led Zeppelin guitarist's possession for more than 40 years and he shows no sign of giving it up.

To alleviate demand from desperate Led Zep devotees, Gibson produced 25 custom guitars built to Page's exact specifications, featuring the flame maple top and a faded "Page Burst" finish.

The company also painstakingly reproduced the dings, dents and wear marks that four decades of playing with one of the world's greatest rock bands has left on the guitar.

Each of the guitars was then passed to Jimmy Page, who kept #1 before individually playing and signing each one.

In 2013, Page's custom Martin D-28 with an fingerboard inlaid with Led Zeppelin's ZOSO symbol, sold for $40,000 for charity.
