The home in which John Lennon spent his early childhood has sold with outstanding results in a property auction held on October 29.

The Liverpool home, which is where Lennon lived with his parents until he was five years old, sold for an impressive £480,000 ($772,114), making a 220% increase on its £150,000 guide price. It was bought by an American Beatles fan.
Lennon spent his early years in the Newcastle Road house before being sent to live with his aunt and uncle, Mimi and George Smith. It is situated just a few streets away from the famed Penny Lane, and is rumoured to have been where Lennon wrote The One After 909, the opening track of the Beatles' final studio album, Let It Be.
Lennon's half-sister Julia Baird was one of the many people who requested a viewing of the house prior to the sale, with estate agent Stephen Giddins telling Sky News:
"She wasn't looking at the house with a view to buying it, she was just really keen to come and see the house to remind herself of the time that she lived here.
"She referred to the fact that the back bedroom was John's bedroom, her parents were in the room next door and her grandparents slept in the main front bedroom."
In April, the front door from Paul McCartney's childhood home sold for £5,060 ($8,139).
