Tupac's California Love fedora selling for $4,000

The fedora that Tupac Shakur wore in the video for California Love has appeared in Iconic Auctions' Spring 2013 sale, which ends on March 30.

The hat comes with exceptional provenance, having been consigned directly by Shakur's former lover

The hat is currently selling for $4,028. As the auction house explains, due to Shakur's early and unfortunate passing in 1996, worn and signed items of his are incredibly scarce and collectible, with an ever growing fan base.

Various photo matches confirm the hat's authenticity

California Love was the hit single from Tupac's 1996 double album, All Eyez on Me, which was released following a stint in jail. It is one of the most important hip-hop songs ever made, and is named in Rolling Stone's 2004 list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time.

The hat has been consigned with exceptional provenance from Sharise Neil, ex-wife of the Motley Crue lead singer, Vince Neil. Sharise and Tupac shared a three month relationship shortly after the single was released, during which time he gave her the fedora.

Paul Fraser Collectibles has some fantastic music memorabilia for sale.
