Bill Gross is largely known as the founder and Chief Investment Officer of PIMCO, the world's largest bond manager, and as an author of several books about financial investments.
However he has also formed one of the great philatelic collections of all time.
On Thursday 3rd December at the Hotel Hermitage in Monte-Carlo Mr Gross was awarded the ASCAT Grand Prix., one of the most prestigious philatelic awards.
Mr Charles Shreve accepted the award on behalf of Mr Gross and entertained the crowd with some amusing anecdotes.
Including a very generous gift from Mr Gross to Mr Shreve's 5yr old son....
