Andy Murray's Wimbledon final shirt sells for $13,000

A shirt Andy Murray sported to win this year's Wimbledon final has made £10,000 ($13,210) for charity.

The white (naturally) Under Armour shirt, signed by Murray, auctioned on the Charitystars website on Thursday.

It was Murray's second Wimbledon win, and third grand slam title

The drop shot loving Scot wore it to despatch the big serving Canadian Milos Raonic without losing a set.

The proceeds will benefit the Malaria No More organisation, whose goal is to eradicate the disease.

Murray commented: "I'm proud to donate the T-shirt I wore when I won Wimbledon 2016 to help make malaria no more.

"We have a real shot at winning the fight against this disease and saving millions of lives."

A signed shirt Murray wore to win this year's Italian Open made just £435 ($574) in May - evidence of the cachet associated with winning the grasscourt title at SW19.
