That’s a world record sum for a Jordan basketball jersey at auction, smashing the previous $173,240 record set in 2015.

The 1984 Olympic Games was Jordan’s last ever amateur appearance before he was snapped up by the Chicago Bulls.

Collectors are prepared to pay a premium for pieces relating to it.

Earlier in the month one buyer paid $190,372 for the Converse sneakers he wore in the final – a world record for a pair of game worn shoes.
