The two 19th century paintings, one of The Duke of Grafton's Oxygen and the other showing Colonel J Peel's Lochinvar, are valued at £30,000-50,000 ($45,598-75,997).

They were once part of an important collection of such paintings that was owned by the late Lord Matthews, former CEO of the Ritz hotel in London.

John Frederick Herring Sr was a successful and prolific equine painter, who counted Queen Victoria among his patrons.

PFC Auctions is currently offering the 1983 Coral Autumn Cup, which was won by Jupiter Island at Newbury.

Paul Fraser Collectibles also has a fantastic selection of horse racing memorabilia for sale, including Kauto Star silks worn by Ruby Walsh.
