The hockey stick used by hockey superstar Wayne Gretzky to score his 1,000 goal - aged just 13 - will feature in Heritage Auctions' August 1-12 Platinum Night Sports Auction.
The stick, which originates from 1974 , will sell with a $20,000+ estimate.
"This stands alone as a unique and intriguing piece of memorabilia relating to the greatest name the NHL has ever featured," commented Heritage's director of sports auctions, Chris Ivy.
"For most great athletes, the milestones they hit as kids and teens are largely forgotten. The buzz around Gretzky, however, was already huge by the time he was 13, and the result was that his 1,000th goal got national coverage all over Canada when it happened."
This will be the first time the stick has ever been seen at auction, having been consigned by the family of Ron St Amand, Gretzky's coach on the Brantford Turkstra Lumber team.
Adding to its appeal is a "boyish" autograph in blue pen, with"1000th" written next to it.
In June, the jersey Gretzky wore to score his 500th NHL goal sold for $298,000, spelling great results for the present sale.
