New York Yankees star Yogi Berra's 1953 World Series ring has auctioned for $159,000.
The ring was the star lot of Steiner Sports' Fall Classic Auction - timed to coincide with the start of the World Series, which gets underway on Wednesday between the Cubs and the Indians.

Several of the famous catcher's World Series rings were stolen from the Yogi Berra Museum and Learning Center in New Jersey in 2014 and have never been found.
It makes this sale all the more important for collectors.
And the auction house explains there is a further reason for this ring's desirability.
"This is the only ring that Berra wore for most of his life…
"Yogi wore this ring on his Pinky as he had big strong hands."
The sale contained 103 lots from the Yogi Berra Estate. Also selling well was Berra's 1972 Hall of Fame induction ring, which made $90,000. The Yankees jersey Berra wore in game one of the 1961 World Series auctioned for $71,874.
Don Larsen gives Berra great credit for helping the Yankees pitcher to the World Series' only perfect game - in game five of the 1956 World Series.
Some 303 of Larsen's artefacts also featured at the sale, most notably his 50th anniversary "perfect game" ring, which achieved $12,545.
