Eddie Van Halen guitar auctions at Charitybuzz - with bids already at $12,500

The All Music Guide once described him as "Second to only Jimi Hendrix... undoubtedly one of the most influential, original, and talented rock guitarists of the 20th century."

His list of collaborators includes Michael Jackson...

And you now have a chance to own a one-of-a-kind autographed "and personalised" guitar from the legendary rock guitarist Eddie Van Halen. It also happens to be one of the first guitars of its kind ever produced.

Eddie Van Halen (pictured top right) owned this axe between 1999-2011, as confirmed with a Certificate of Authenticity autographed by the Dutch guitarist himself.

Eddie Van Halen's 1999 Wolfgang guitar - bids have climbed to $12,500

The guitar is a 1999 Wolfgang with "Translucent Cherry Sunburst 5A Flame top" design.

Eddie is today regarded as being indisputably one of the greatest - and most innovative - guitar players of all time. He exploded onto the international rock scene with his group Van Halen's self-titled debut album in 1978.

Van Halen has since won a Grammy for his songwriting, and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2007.

Bids on his guitar have already exceeded its $10,000 pre-sale estimate, having reached $12,500 at the time of writing. There are still 21 days left for you to bid.

Could Eddie Van Halen’s memorabilia be as valued in the future as Jimi Hendrix’s autograph – like this example we have for sale priced at £3,500? It’s very likely...

All proceeds from Charitybuzz's sale will benefit Drop in the Bucket, an organisation devoted to delivering clean water to third-world countries.

Given Van Halen's firmly-established legacy, this guitar won't only be a treasured piece of rock 'n' roll history for its lucky buyer, but also a good appreciating asset in future years.
