Margaret Ann yacht to dazzle at Antibes Yacht Auction

At the first ever Antibes Yacht Show Auction, sailing enthusiasts will be given the opportunity to bid on the superyacht Margaret Ann.

Margaret Ann yacht Pendennis
The winning bidder is invited to compete in the Dubois Cup

Taking place on April 18-21 and organised by Morley Yachts, the auction will see the boat - built by Pendennis in England - displayed in front of the VIP tent, where the auction is taking place, before bids are accepted. The winning bidder will then be able to toast their new purchase on the aft deck.

The Margaret Ann was launched in 2004, with its spectacular architecture designed by Dubois. Measuring 29.1m, it features interior styling by Redman Whiteley Dixon, and has recently received an extensive makeover at the hands of Captain Simon Davison.

It is joined by a further 30 yachts in the French sale. The auction represents a new concept in yacht sales, according to Margaret Ann's owner, who commented:

"The standard practice of marketing yachts with inflated asking prices, having them sit around for years suffering from neglect waiting for an interested buyer who then has to go through a long and drawn-out process with offers and counter-offers makes zero sense to me."

Ed Dubois has invited the new owner of the Margaret Ann to take part in the prestigious Dubois Cup, which is held at the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda in Porto Cervo on June 1-3.

We will bring you full results right here later in the month.
