The mask comes from Jackson's personal bodyguard, Eric Muhammad, and is said to have been worn by the King of Pop while rehearsing for his This Is It tour.

Remarkably, the surgical mask is said to contain visible traces of Jackson's make-up which he wore for the doomed tour. This Is It was set to be Jackson's big comeback, before he passed away in 2009.

The lot consists of the mask, along with a letter of authenticity from Muhammad and a cheque that proves the bodyguard's employment with The Michael Jackson Company.

The otherwise fine mask has a separation to the bottom seam, allowing it to be identified in photographs of the singer. Jackson supposedly wore the masks to conceal himself from the constant press attention he received.

Bids in the online sale have reached in excess of $20,000, with devoted Michael Jackson fans clambering for this important and personal item from one of the greatest entertainers the world has ever seen. The auction house has set a broad estimate of $50,000-150,000.

Paul Fraser Collectibles is very proud to offer this sequined jacket owned and worn by the legendary singer.

The auction, which closes on April 30, 2012, will also feature the pair of opera glasses used by Abraham Lincoln on the night of his assassination.
