Dazzling 'James Bond' Rolex Submariner stars in vast jewellery auction

Later this week, nearly 600 lots are going under the hammer in GulfCoast's Coin & Jewelry LLC's huge Coin, Jewelry, Collectible and Antique Auction.

Alongside a wide range of collectibles, new and estate jewellery there are a number of lots of original art, fine furniture and a large rare coin and currency auction. For now, we will focus in on the jewellery.

Probably the pick of the watches is a Rolex Submariner sporting a dark blue dial in 18k yellow gold case and strap.

The submariner was originally designed for diving and known for its water-resistance. The first Submariner was introduced in 1954 at the Swiss Watch Fair. It is regarded as a classic and one of the most widely recognized luxury products in the world, in part because of its frequent appearances in James Bond films.

It is expected to sell for $12,000-$15,000. The top three lots are, unsurprisingly, based around diamonds:

Firstly, there is a 14k yellow gold engagement ring with one round brilliant cut diamond weighing 1.52ct with clarity VS1 and E colour (that is, close to perfect clarity and colourlessness).  It is listed at $28,000 - $30,000.

Lady's diamond pendant

An excellent investment is on offer in the form of an 18k white and rose gold diamond bracelet -15 grams with bezel set. The natural pink and white round brilliant cut diamonds weigh 4.81 carats with VS1-SI1 clarity and the piece is listed at $45,000 - $49,000.

Finally, the expected top lot is a beautiful Lady's 14k white gold diamond pendant with one pear shaped diamond prong set weighing 6.80cts, with clarity SI2 and J colour.

Attractive and impressive, it will be go under the hammer with an estimate of $70,000-75,000 in GulfCoast Coin & Jewelery's auction in Bonita Springs, Florida, USA on January 15 with full online bidding available.
