Limited edition £28,000 Marc Newson watch could be a bargain in Paris

While we await the release of Artcurial's results from its exceptional July 20 Monte Carlo sale - featuring a 1956 Audemars Piguet rarity among its highlights - here's a look forward to the French auction house's forthcoming August 17 event in Paris.

Among the sale's highlights will be this very rare Chronograph bracelet platinum watch by Marc Newson, Ikepod, Megapode No 9. The timepiece's features include an interior rotating bezel, a blue dial and second time zone indication at nine o'clock.

Limited to just 99 examples: Marc Newson's Ikepod wristwatch

These features are housed within a 194g platinum case measuring 45mm in diameter. Manufactured in 2008, this watch was limited to just 99 copies and auction at Artcurial in a gift box and with its original papers. Its dial, case and movement have all been signed.

Among the wealth of luxury and high-end watches in Artcurial's sale, Megapode No 9 could offer a high-end bargain to collectors. While the retail price of one of these pieces is closer to €48,200, the watch will appear in the sale estimated at €26,000-28,000. The bidders - in the saleroom and online - will decide the rest.
