1992 Screaming Eagle case set for rare auction appearance

The first full case of 1992 Screaming Eagle to appear at auction since 2008 is among the offerings at Acker Merrall & Condit's upcoming wine auction in Hong Kong.

Screaming Eagle made its debut in 1992

The 12 bottles of the debut vintage California Cabernet Sauvignon will arrive at the October 13 and 14 auction with a $70,000 valuation.

Nine rare bottles of 1971 Echezeaux will also feature, with a $60,000 high valuation. John Kapon, the CEO of Acker Merrall & Condit, explains that the lot comes from a "legendary barrel of wines bottled and labeled by Henri Jayer himself especially for [wine writer] Alexis Lichine - a true gem in terms of provenance, rarity and quality."

DRC fans will also be well served - there are more than 90 lots from the Burgundy on offer.
