Hart Davis Hart Wine Co., the internationally renowned wine auction house and retailer, will hold an exciting auction of Finest and Rarest Wines on June 24th and 25th at award-winning restaurant Tru, located in Chicago.
This exceptional sale will feature private cellars from all areas of the United States and includes an encyclopedic collection of First Growth Bordeaux, from such top vintages as 1982, 1989, 1995, 2000 and 2005.
The sale will feature an impressive 53 lots of Burgundy from Domaine de la Romanée-Conti including a rare jeroboam of 1990 La Tâche (estimated at $11,000-$17,000), as well as seven lots of DRC Montrachet, regarded by many to be the finest of all white wines.
Additional highlights include vast offerings of Sine Qua Non featuring 38 lots (estimated at $58,010-$87,250), including a double magnum in its original wooden case of the 100-point 2002 Sine Qua Non Syrah, Just For The Love Of It.
Comprehensive offerings from Screaming Eagle are also featured throughout the sale with an exciting 68 bottles and three magnums on offer, spanning every vintage produced from 1992 to 2007.
The auction, which includes a total of 1,817 lots, is estimated to fetch $4.7m-$7m. Particular highlights of the sale include 12 bottles of the 1982 Château Pétrus (listed at $42,000-65,000) and 12 bottles of Château Lafite Rothschild from the same year with a $40,000-60,000 estimate.
In fact there are several highly covetable lots for the Lafite collector from 1986, 1996, 2000 and 2005 - an excellent opportunity to pick up a fine alternative investment as Lafite is particularly popular in the growing Asian wine market.
