Mortlach 60-year-old available to collectors

Paul Fraser Collectibles has turned its spotlight onto the whisky market, and found this rare treasure which is presently for sale.

The 1938 Mortlach (70cl, 40%) was bottled at 60-years-old and is a recent new release on the market, limited to only 100 bottles.

The Mortlach distillery remains one of only a handful of distilleries still using wooden worm tub condensers to cool their spirit.

The 1938 Mortlach 60-year-old, priced at around £7,660

It also one of only three distilleries which use "partial triple distillation", also practised at Benrinnes and Springbank

Known for its full, rich and robust texture, the Mortlach's great affinity for sherrywood has resulted in some magnificent previous older bottlings.

A single bottle of this prized Speyside single Malt Scotch Whisky can be priced around £7,660.

Of course, a whisky like this should be worshipped and enjoyed properly - so here is master blender David Stewart's guide on how to best enjoy Scotch Whisky.
