Sotheby’s Hong Kong wine sale set for September

Two of the finest wine collections in Asia will cross the block at Sotheby’s Hong Kong on September 8-9.

Hermitage Jaboulet wines

Each bottle of this 1961 Paul Jaboulet Aine is valued at $12,000

The cellar of Melina & NK Yong will star on September 8, while Mr Yap Chee Meng’s will auction the following day. Both consist of classic old world bottlings, as well as intriguing inclusions from vineyards in Australia and the US.

Simon Tam, Christie’s head of wine in Asia, said of the Yongs and Yap Chee Meng: “I have known them for many years, their passion and discerning eye for the best wines are always overwhelming.

“Their diverse collections provide a rare opportunity for ardent wine enthusiasts to acquire treasures catered for all occasions.”
