Madonna (1958-) is a globally-successful singer, toppling the music charts internationally since the 1980s. She is famed and admired for her ability to constantly reinvent her image.

Madonna has reached a staggering level of success, selling over 250 million records, achieving the Guinness World Record for the world's most successful female recording artist of all time.

As one of the most iconic female pop stars, Madonna's memorabilia is hugely sought after by collectors, with clothing worn by the star among the most valuable.

This white vest top was worn by Madonna in the photo shoot for her 2003 GAP campaign adverts.

The shoot by noted fashion photographer Regan Cameron took place on June 24, 2003 at Paramount Studios in Los Angeles.

The images of Madonna wearing the vest appeared extensively in print advertising campaigns, billboards, and in GAP stores around the world.

An image from the shoot also appeared on the cover of the 2003 Fall Fashion issue of Harper's Bazaar magazine.

And an out-take from the shoot was used on the cover of her single Love Profusion single, from her 2003 studio album American Life.

The GAP television commercial for the campaign, starring Madonna and Missy Elliot, was filmed at the same location on the same day.

Madonna is seen wearing an identical photo-matched outfit in both the shoot and the TV commercial, which leads us to conclude this vest top was also worn on-screen in the commercial.

In 2009 this signed vest top was part of the 'Simply Madonna: Materials Of The Girl' exhibition, which took place at the Old Truman Brewery in Brick Lane, London from February 21 until March 2.

The exhibition featured more than 300 outfits and artefacts spanning her entire career, and represented the world's largest private collection of Madonna memorabilia.

The vest was later acquired directly from the curator of the exhibition.

The signature and cotton GAP vest are in fine condition.

Madonna has signed the top in bold black marker pen.

Some irregularities feature on the autograph due to the ribbed surface of the top, otherwise fine condition.

Some light make-up stains to top which measures 20½" in length and 13" across the chest.

An original copy of the Love Profusion record, 12½" x 12½", is included.

This is an exceptional piece of Madonna memorabilia, worn in one of the most famous fashion advertising campaigns of the noughties.

Offered in original condition, signed, and with superb provenance, it represents a unique opportunity for Madonna fans and collectors of pop music history.
