Dame Barbara Hepworth's Two Forms with White (Greek) has sold for £3.1m ($4.8m).
The lot led a sale of British and Irish art at Christie's London, achieving an increase of 105.5% on a £1.8m ($2.8m) estimate.

Produced in 1963 the work is a classic example of Hepworth's mature style.
Christie's explained in the run-up to the sale that the work "combines the symbolic and abstract, the non-representational and naturalistic".
The sale follows on from the £4.1m ($6.3m) record sale of Hepworth's Figure in a Landscape in 2014.
The auction house commented: "This evening's sale of Modern British and Irish Art saw strong demand for works by the leading British and Irish artists of the 20th century, led by Barbara Hepworth's outstanding 'Two Forms with White (Greek)'.
"This auction saw collectors competing from 18 countries across 5 continents, highlighting the increasingly global appeal of this dynamic category."
The sale also featured works by Eric Gill and Sir Stanley Spencer.
