A Normandy Farm by Guy Rose (1867-1925), valued at $300,000-500,000, is to lead a sale of California and Western Paintings and Sculpture at Bonhams.
The sale will take place in Los Angeles and San Francisco on August 5.

Rose was a leading exponent of the impressionist wave that swept California during the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
As a child he taught himself to paint while recovering from a gunshot wound sustained in a hunting accident, and went on to study in Paris before returning to the US in the 1890s - where he worked as a freelance illustrator in New York.
He would later return to France where he took up residence in Giverny in the house along from Claude Monet, with whom he maintained a close friendship.
We have this handwritten letter from Monet.
His Out to Sea, Point Lobos realised $197,000 at Heritage Auctions in November last year. His auction record stands at $1.9m, set for Owens River, Sierra Nevada, California at Sotheby's New York in 2005.
Other lots in the sale include William Wendt's Vibrant Coast, which is valued at $150,000-200,000.
Known as the "Dean of Southern California" by his peers, Wendt was a founder of the California Art Club.
The organisation was key to the development of west coast impressionism.
