Collectors are over the moon after the latest sale of Apollo 11 memorabilia saw a number of rare Neil Armstrong autographs go under the hammer.
The auction gave enthusiasts and investors alike the chance to pick up a copy of the world's rarest living signature, amongst other unique Apollo 11 items, at the sale by Ira and Larry Goldberg.
Most popular was a colour lithograph boldly signed by Armstrong, along with Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins, selling for $5,000. However, many individual item signed by Armstrong alone (including letters relating to the 15th anniversary reunion of the mission) sold for up to $1,300.

Other items included a signed album recorded live at Mission Control during the mission and a flown American flag from Apollo 12.
As the sale proves, you don't always have to pay sky-high prices for a piece of history with huge investment potential. As figures show, the value of an Armstrong signature is sure to appreciate in the years to come.
Neil Armstrong's autograph has risen in price by 900% over the last 10 years, out-performing nearly all the major names on the industry's PFC40 Autograph Index.
As Armstrong chose to stop signing autographs during the early 90s the value of his signed items has rocketed in comparison to his crewmates due to a finite supply and an increasing demand. However the field of space collectibles has remained relatively unexplored territory for many investors.
