DeArtagnan and The Three Musketeers swashbuckle into Paris auction

A rare first edition of Alexandre Dumas's (1802-1870) classic fable, The Three Musketeers, will be auctioned at Artcurial in Paris next Tuesday (June 15).

The rare copy will be sold in contemporary binding with a smooth spine. Its condition report lists some "clumsy" restoration to its leather cover, a small scratch and a few light spots.

Despite its few cosmetic imperfections, this copy is still very rare and will appear for sale at Artcurial with an impressive estimate of €30,000-50,000.
