William Linton's Italy sketches expected to make $10,500

William Linton's Sketches of Italy stands as the highest valued lot in Bloomsbury Auctions' Printed Books, Manuscripts, Ephemera and Original Artwork sale in London on 12 June.

Linton was a respected landscape artist, frequently exhibiting at the Royal Academy



The 1832 two-volume presentation copy is inscribed by the artist and author to a Mrs Hofland on the front free endpaper. Featuring two large vignettes and 96 plates, it will sell for £5,000-7,000 ($9,098-10,615).

The sale features a wide range of books, with a Bible dating to 1476 holding the second highest estimate at £5,500-6,500 ($8,340-9,856).

Paul Fraser Collectibles has some fascinating manuscripts for sale, including an Elizabeth I signed document featuring an original Great Seal of the Realm.
