A hugely rare unrestored example of the seldom-seen 1967 Ferrari 330 GTS is among Gooding & Company's offering in Scottsdale, Arizona on January 17-18.
Of the 100 GTS' produced between 1966 and 1968, only a scant few have never been restored, providing a potential headache for the future owner.
Fix it up to its original splendour or keep the machine unchanged?
It could certainly do with some love. It boasts a damaged windscreen, scorched hood and insulation, the result of a fire to the vehicle in the late 1960s, reports the New York Times.
The Ferrari's then owner, collector Samuel Scher, sold it in an insurance auction in 1969. Its buyer is said to have had every intention of fixing her up, but never got round to it.
The matching numbers, Pininfarina-bodied vehicle has less than 23,000 miles on the clock and has resided in the same family since the auction, only coming to light in November.
In an interview with the publication, the auction house's founder, David Gooding, said he believes the vehicle is capable of making $2m.
"People are just amazed we have it," he added, in reference to the car's completely undoctored features.
A McLaren F1 GTR Longtail will also feature at the sale, with a $7m high estimate.
