Bonhams' Beaulieu sale achieved record results on September 6 in the UK, reflecting the strength of the classic car market.

The sale, which took place at the National Motor Museum, made an impressive £3.4m ($5.4m), with over 300 lots of classic cars and automobilia crossing the block.
A 1920 Vauxhall 30-98 E-Type was the top lot of the sale, appearing at auction for the first time in 62 years. It soared past estimate, selling for £242,300 ($391,685).
Pre-war Vauxhall was extremely popular at the sale, with a Type OD 23-60HP Kington Tourer coming in at £55,200 ($89,232). It was previously used as a London taxi cab, but spent the past 30 years languishing in a garage.
"Many happy bidders turned out for the day, with projects proving particularly popular - a 1961 Jaguar E-Type project requiring complete restoration sold for almost four-times its estimate at £77,660 ($125,540) ; and proving Aston Martin's continued popularity amongst collectors - a DB Mk III Sports Saloon project achieved almost double its estimate at £93,340 ($150,887)," said Bonhams' James Knight.
One of the more unusual lots in the sale was a replica of the Lambretta scooter ridden by the character Jimmy in the cult film Quadrophenia, which sold for £10,350 ($16,731).
There were only a few replicas of the scooter made, with the rest owned by members of the Who, and Oasis singer Liam Gallagher.
