'Concours winning' 1964 Jaguar E-Type sells with $150,000 estimate

Appearing alongside the world's first supercar, the Lamborghini Miura P400, at Gooding & Company's Scottsdale auction is another bona fide rolling work of art...

This majestic 1964 Jaguar E-Type Series 1 3.8 Litre Roadster will roll onto the auction block in Arizona with a $120,000-150,000 estimate, at no reserve.

Unsurprisingly, judging from the below photograph, this E-Type is a Concours-winning restoration. The matching-numbers car boasts a striking colour combination and its certified by the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust.

Billed as the purest essence of 1960s British motoring by Gooding & Co, the E-Type boasts a 3,782 CC DOHC Inline 6-Cylinder Engine under its bonnet and three Sidedraft SU Carburetors.

Capable of 265 BHP at 5,400 RPM, complimented by a 4-Speed Manual Gearbox and Independent Front and Rear Suspension, the car will appear for sale on January 21-22.

While the $150,000 estimate of this Jag represents the higher-end of the market, E-Types are actually among the best-value classic cars on the markets, with some appearing priced at $25,000.
