Elvis Presley is set to rock the auction block at Mercedes-Benz World

A Mercedes-Benz 600 owned by the 'King of Rock and Roll', Elvis Presley, and a 2000 Ferrari 550 GTZ will star in Bonhams' end of year Important Motor Cars and Fine Automobilia sale on December 6.

Restored to a very high standard, and one of only a handful of cars that Presley registered in his name, the Mercedes-Benz has attracted a pre-sale estimate of £150,000-200,000.

Presley kept the car - one of two 600 Mercedes he owned - for two years before giving it to his friend, James Leroy Robertson.

It was later purchased by the vendor in 2005 from Robertson Motors Memphis, and then exported to the UK.

The Ferrari 550 GTZ, meanwhile, is one of only five examples of the car bodied by the famous Italian carrozeria Zagato and the only known Right Hand Drive example.

Also adding to the excitement is a change in venue for this year's sale. It will be held at Mercedes-Benz World in Surrey, UK, situated within the banking of Britain's first ever purpose built racing circuit, the famous Brooklands Motor Course.

The Mercedes 300 SL Gullwing is also making an appearance

Of course, no Mercedes auction would be complete without an appearance by the 300 SL Gullwing. A 1955 example is rolling onto the auction block estimated at £350,000-400,000.
