Elvis' 'Graceland West' home to see $2.5m at auction

Graceland West, Elvis Presley's former home in Palm Springs, California, is to be auctioned on October 25.

Elvis initially bought the house for just over $100,000, with Frankie Valli selling it for $500,000 in 1981

The house was bought by Elvis in 1970 and he kept it until his death in 1977. Boasting 1.75 acres, views of the surrounding mountains and desert, as well as a pool and spa, it is valued at $2.59m.

Elvis isn't the only star to have lived there either, with Frankie Valli buying it shortly after Elvis' death and selling it in 1981.

However, the pad was initially listed at $3.75m, but the owner has been forced to reduce the price after a failed project to renovate the property as an Elvis themed party venue for fans.

The 30x50 foot entertaining room features a very 1970s checkerboard floor

The home still retains some of Elvis' trademark style with a bright red carpet typical of the 1970s, and crimson fittings in the bathroom. The "entertaining room" features a checkerboard floor, with cardboard cut-outs of Elvis visible in the photographs.

It has four bedrooms, with 7 bathrooms.

However, this isn't the only Elvis property on the market at the moment, with another Palm Springs pad, where Elvis and Priscilla Presley spend their honeymoon selling for $9.5m. Elvis' Beverly Hills estate was bought in 2013 for $9.8m by the Hard Rock Café and has since been rented out.

Paul Fraser Collectibles has a great selection of Elvis memorabilia for sale.
