Elvis Presley's private planes offered at Julien's Auctions

Two of Elvis Presley's private planes will be offered at auction for the very first time, having spent years on display at Graceland.

The interior of the Lisa Marie, preserved how Elvis left it

The two planes, named the Lisa Marie and Hound Dog II, will be sold by Julien's Auctions on February 2 in a sealed bid auction.

The Lisa Marie, a Convair 880 Jet, was bought for the huge sum of $250,000 in 1975, with Elvis spending a total of $600,000 on its refurbishment. Named after his only daughter, it is fitted with a custom-made queen-size bed, an executive bathroom with gold fittings, a stereo with 50 speakers, as well as four TVs with VCR players.

The tail section of the plane is decorated with the "TCB" or "Taking Care of Business" logo used by Elvis and his entourage. Its last voyage was transporting Priscilla Presley and friend George Hamilton to Elvis' funeral.

Elvis' father, Vernon Presley, sold the Lisa Marie in 1978. It had two owners before the present owner joined with Graceland to make it part of the attraction. The original interior, chosen by Elvis, remains intact.

The Hound Dog II, a Lockheed Jetstar, was also bought in 1975 for around $900,000, with Elvis using it as a stand-in while waiting for the refurbishment of the Lisa Marie.

Neither is now airworthy.
