Lady Gaga is fast emerging as one of the biggest celebrity collectors, with plans to buy a share in one of the ultimate items of music memorabilia: Michael Jackson's Neverland.

A source told the UK's Sun newspaper: "Lady Gaga is obsessed with Michael. She's become good friends with his sister Latoya and would love more than anything else to restore Neverland to its original state."
Gaga bought 55 items of his memorabilia at a December 2012 auction. The similarly eccentric singer was due to support Jackson shortly before his death in London in 2009.
Investment group Sycamore Valley Ranch Company (which Jackson part-owned) purchased the $23m Neverland mortgage in 2008, with the performer facing huge amounts of debt. The company now holds a majority share in California's Neverland, although Jackson's children also have shares.
Lady Gaga's financial assistance will ensure that Neverland is maintained for the children until they are old enough to make decisions regarding its future. With Gaga such a big fan, she will certainly preserve his legacy as much as possible.
"His kids are all desperate to hold on to their childhood home so they can decide what they want to do with it properly when they've grown up," commented the unidentified source.
As well as being a top collector, Gaga is fast becoming highly collectible herself. A teacup and saucer once used by her sold for $75,300 in May 2012, and an Armani shoe that she threw into the crowd is expected to sell for $6,500 at upcoming Paris auction.
Appearing in the 2012 highest-grossing tours list, she looks set to become one of the biggest stars in collectibles.
