Memorabilia belonging to legendary British drummer Mitch Mitchell will sell at Julien’s Auctions in LA on November 4.
Mitchell made his name in the Jimi Hendrix Experience, which he joined in 1966.

The incendiary power trio produced three of the best albums of the 1960s, before falling out in spectacular fashion.
Mitchell went on to work as a session musician. He was named the 23rd best drummer of all time in a Rolling Stone reader’s poll in 2005.
The auction will feature a Ludwig Silver Sparkle kit he used onstage and in the studio during his time with the Experience, valued at $60,000-80,000.
Mitchell spotted the kit at a second-hand dealer in the US and instantly fell in love with its classic looks. It originally featured two floor toms, but one was stolen after a show in Germany.
There’s also a ludicrous multi-coloured shag coat that Mitchell liked to wear to parties. It’s valued at $2,000-3,000.

Darren Julien, CEO of Julien’s Auctions, said: “Mitch Mitchell's explosive drum playing and innovative technique was the beating heart of The Jimi Hendrix Experience, one of the most influential rock bands in history...
“This incredible collection represents the zenith of rock and roll’s most seismic and counterrevolutionary decade that will surely exhilarate and thrill any fan of this remarkable music era.”
