An unpublished nude photograph of Madonna has sold in the online auction of the collection of Penthouse founder Bob Guccione (1930-2010).

The sale closed on November 9, with the Madonna photograph selling for $3,400. It is part of a larger collection of photos of the star taken in 1977 - six years before the release of her first album.
The shots were taken by photographer Herman Kulkens, who offered the 18-year-old University of Michigan dance student $10 an hour to pose for him. Much of the collection is unpublished, though some have appeared in both Penthouse and Playboy magazines.
Guccione amassed a huge collection of erotic art, photography and memorabilia, which was bought after his death by Wall Street trader Jeremy Frommer, who is responsible for the auction.
