'Outstanding prices' mark Antiquorum's vintage and modern fine watches auction

Antiquorum's September auction of Important Modern & Vintage Timepieces, for which the full prices have just been released, totaled $2,792,050.

The auction of 319 collectible timepieces attracted 353 registered internet and phone bidders from around the world. International bidding came from countries such as Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, the Russian Federation, the Netherlands, Canada and the United States.

Strong prices were achieved resulting in 78% sold by lot and 119% sold by value.

The top lot of the sale was the Patek Philippe ref.2499 [lot 319] which was acquired for $374,500 after several minutes of intense competition between phone, internet and room bidders.

Many other complicated Patek Philippe timepieces attained important results; the Patek Philippe ref. 1436 [lot 318], a unique split-second chronograph with transitional dial retailed by Tiffany, sold for $284,500 while the Patek Philippe ref. 3971 [lot 109] obtained $116,500.
