A collection of 14 bottles of Glenfiddich Special whisky dating to the 1950s has realised a combined £17,000 ($25,551).
They bottles, recently discovered during a house clearance, sold at Lindsay Burns & Co in Perth, Scotland on April 15.
The bottles were sold as separate lots |
A spokesperson for the auction house commented: "The bottles went to various collectors and connoisseurs. A lot will stay in Scotland.
"They are rare survivors, they come from the 50s when Glenfiddich was one of the few malts available. Some people will want to buy a bottle to drink, some will see it as an investment."
