La Aurora, the oldest cigar maker in the Dominican Republic, is opening its first branded cigar lounge next week.
And it is hoped that the lounge will be the first of many.
The opening will be celebrated with a night of food, music and Aurora 100 Años Lanceros cigars at The La Aurora Cigar Lounge inside Tobacco Plaza, a shop in Great Neck, New York.
The shop has been owned and operated by Marshall Holman and family for the last 40 years.
Guillermo Léon, vice president of La Aurora, will be attending the October 2 event.
Nestor Miranda, president of Miami Cigar & Co, the exclusive distributor of La Aurora cigars in the United States, will also be there.
"New York was a natural location for the first lounge since a cigar store is about the only place in the state where you can enjoy a fine smoke," said Miranda in a press release.
"We plan on adding other lounges across the country next year."
