A Ted Williams game-used baseball jersey is among the many highlights in Robert Edwards Auctions' Fall Sale, which is currently open for bids and closes on October 19.

The jersey is now selling for $47,500, and is one of the finest examples seen at auction. It first appeared at Hunt Auctions' sale of the Ted Williams Collection in April 2012, where it realised $126,500.
Ted Williams (1918-2002) is widely regarded as one of the greatest hitters in baseball. He played his entire career for the Boston Red Sox, finishing with a .344 batting average, 521 home runs, and a .482 on base percentage, the highest of all time.
The jersey was originally bought at a charity auction in 1964 by philanthropist Allen Wheeler, who immediately gifted it to Richard Berry, a non-collector who had volunteered at the auction. It spent much of its life tucked away in a chest until recently, accounting for its fantastic condition.
The record for a Ted Williams jersey was set at $184,000 at the All Star Fan Fest auction in July.
Currently selling as top lot in the auction is an 1887 N172 Old Judge advertising poster, which shows the complete set of what were the world's first widely distributed baseball cards. It is now at $80,000, but will undoubtedly rise as the auction draws to a close.
Also featuring is a near-complete SGC-graded set of the famous 1909-1911 T206 cards, which ranks ninth on the SGC Registry. A total of 519 cards, it is selling for $37,500.
